Strengthen Your Financial Foundation

Building comfort with investment decisions takes time and the right guidance. Our autumn 2025 and early 2026 courses walk you through practical approaches to portfolio building, risk assessment, and long-term planning. You'll learn from instructors who actually manage portfolios and have navigated multiple market cycles.

Course Schedule for Late 2025 and Early 2026

Each program runs for several weeks with a mix of evening sessions and weekend workshops. Perfect if you're working full-time and want to build investment knowledge without disrupting your schedule.

Portfolio Construction Basics

8 weeks

Start with the fundamentals. We'll cover asset allocation, diversification strategies, and how to match your portfolio to your actual risk tolerance. Not theory-heavy — you'll work through real portfolio examples and learn to spot common mistakes before they cost you.

Starts September 15, 2025
Tuesday evenings, 6:30–8:30 PM PT | Online with interactive sessions

Understanding Market Volatility

6 weeks

Markets go up and down. That's obvious, but knowing how to respond (or not respond) during those swings makes all the difference. This course examines historical market patterns, behavioral finance pitfalls, and ways to stick to your plan when things get rough.

Starts October 6, 2025
Saturday mornings, 9:00–11:30 AM PT | Hybrid format available

Tax-Efficient Investing for Canadians

5 weeks

Canadian tax rules around TFSAs, RRSPs, and non-registered accounts can get confusing. This program breaks down which accounts work best for different situations and how to minimize your tax drag over time. Bring your questions — we set aside time each session for specific scenarios.

Starts November 3, 2025
Thursday evenings, 7:00–9:00 PM PT | Online

Retirement Planning Workshop

4 weeks

Whether retirement is decades away or around the corner, having a realistic plan matters. We'll work through withdrawal strategies, longevity risk, and how to balance growth with preservation as your timeline shifts. No two retirement plans look identical, and that's the point.

Starts January 12, 2026
Monday evenings, 6:00–8:30 PM PT | Online

Reading Financial Statements

6 weeks

If you invest in individual stocks or want to understand what you own in your funds, knowing how to read balance sheets and income statements helps a lot. This course moves through the numbers methodically, with case studies from Canadian and international companies.

Wednesday evenings, 7:00–9:00 PM PT | Online with Q&A sessions

Meet Two of Our Course Instructors

Siobhan Kavanagh teaching investment courses

Siobhan Kavanagh

Portfolio Management Instructor

Siobhan spent fifteen years managing mid-sized portfolios for Canadian clients before moving into education. She teaches the Portfolio Construction and Retirement Planning courses, bringing lots of real-world examples from her years working with families through different market conditions. Her approach is practical — she'd rather show you how decisions play out over time than drown you in jargon.

Petra Lindqvist leading financial analysis courses

Petra Lindqvist

Financial Analysis Instructor

Petra handles the Financial Statements course and co-teaches the Dividend Strategy program. She worked as an equity analyst for a decade before joining our team. She's good at breaking down complicated financial reports into something that actually makes sense, and her students appreciate that she doesn't assume everyone comes in with an accounting background.
